Another birthday...

35 today. It feels pretty good. Craig and I are going to visit some wineries and maybe do some geocaching along the way. Then we'll go out to dinner, but I haven't decided where yet. It'll be a nice, relaxed pace day and we'll have the family over for a party tomorrow after church.
I made this lion yesterday in the car as we did errands. Its in the style of Christie Friesen. Its embellished with carnelian and I think picture jasper. I know its a jasper, but not positive on which one. Anyways, he's my first try at a lion. I've done a dragon, mermaid, turtle and frog in her style. I love her books. They're easy to follow and have lots of whimsy in them.
I cant decide what to giveaway for my birthday. It might be this. He's designed to hang on a wall. He's maybe 4" x 3". I thought he turned out cute. To be entered into my birthday giveaway just leave a comment and I'll draw a name tomorrow.

  4. Happy Birthday! Hope the day was great and that you keep on celebrating - birthdays come too far apart to celebrate for only one day, lol.
The lion is awesome - you made him in the car? He's amazing!

  6. Came by your way for the first time by way of JKBee"s Lavendar Loft, we have been friends since 5th grade. I really enjoyed reading your blog, loved the idea of the get together, and your grammy sounds very special, you are so blessed to still have her and your mother. Stop by some time, I have a turtle that lives on our property

  7. I just read on Judie's blog your confession that you did not know the term courtesan. There have been wonderful women in history who have been courtesan, not wholly unrespectable in a time when it was difficult to an intelligent independent woman make her way in the world. Here is a short list of some. http://www.intimate-ebooks.com/famouscourtesans.html

I am sure you have heard of Mata Hari, Sarah Bernhardt, and Lillie Langtry. What exciting women they were!
