I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I'm sorry I've been such a bad blogger. Things get pretty hectic around Christmas when you're a church musician. Thankfully everything went well and all my big services are over. I even pulled up the nerve and played the harp for 3 different services.
Every year my family draws names and makes a gift for someone. This year I got my cousin Sarah. She loves frogs so I made her this puzzle box. I used 5 different boxes to modify and put together the final design. I used magnets to help everything stay in place when its closed. The frog sits on a dowel which must be removed in order to open the box and get the lid covering the drawers off. Lots of clay and paint made the box pretty. I think that she really loves it.

That box is absolutely adorable! I'm sure she loved it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been busy with you music. Kudos to you for playing the harp in public! I admire you for it!
*hugs*

Oooh froggies!!! Love it! Have a wonderful New Year!
ReplyDeletewow the frog gift is pretty neat! Good job! Must have really been a treat to hear the harp, such a beautiful instrument, rarely heard!
ReplyDeleteHappy New year to you!
That's gorgeous!
ReplyDeletepeace, Kai :)
The box is great - how creative! & nice to do homemade pressies for your exchange - I made little felt 'car stars' for the driving family members, & little teardrop blessings stars for the kids.
ReplyDeleteI'm a harper too! I bet everyone was SO GLAD you played for those services! I'm playing for one next Sun - as we had a tremendous snowstorm from the week before Christmas thru New Years, & several things got cancelled!
I always have quite a few Dec bookings, & the harp is such a delightful & uplifting instrument!
Looking forward to the valentine exchange with mother Henna's group :)
It's beautiful, Brandy! I bet she loved it - I know I would.
ReplyDeleteAs a church musician, I can just imagine how busy you must be during the holidays - I've been a terrible blogfriend this past month, with much less excuse. Hope you had a merry Christmas - and wishing you a wonderful New Year!
